An estimated cost of US$200 million was incurred in construction and development.〔(www.power-technology.com: Wayang Windu Geothermal Power Station )〕 A third unit of 127 MW is being planned and expected to be onstream by mid-2013.〔 The arrangements to establish and operate the Wayang Windu plant were part of the overall policy towards the development of geothermal energy in Indonesia〔Surya Darma, Sugiharto Harsoprayitno, Herman Darnel Ibrahim, Agusman Effendi, Agus Triboesono (2010), '(Geothermal in Indonesia: Government Regulations and Power Utilities, Opportunities and Challenges of its Development' ), in ''Proceedings World Geothermal Congress 2010'', Bali Indonesia, 25–30 April.〕 == Geothermal field == The area of the Wayang Windu geothermal field is in the order of 40 km².
